Staying Motivated

Hello lovely readers!

I’ll keep this short and sweet, maybe… after feeling super unmotivated to write, I’ve been mulling over the direction of Just Murrayed, and I was going to conduct a survey about what YOU want to see on my blog but to be honest with you, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going back to what I always wanted Just Murrayed to be about: Marriage, Motivation and Memories(can you tell I LOVE alliteration?)

I’m not an expert at any of those things but if I’m thinking or mulling them over in my life, I assume someone must be as well. And if I can give you a different perspective or something to ponder or improve in your life, I’d love to do that.

So here’s what you can expect from Just Murrayed going forward:

Mondays will be all about MOTIVATION. Everyone could use a little pep talk to get you out the door or out of your pajamas on a Monday morning, so you’ll want to check out the blog then! You’ll find awesome quotes that I’ve been meditating on, empowering pieces of advice, motivational books I’d recommend, tips to stay focused and motivated on your goals, weekly and monthly goals that I have for myself, bucket lists and self-care ideas.

Wednesdays will be all about MARRIAGE. I’m hardly an expert but I’m a stubborn and quirky lady who has made her relationship work for 15 years despite all my shortcomings. If I can give you a new perspective or motivation to keep your marriage awesome, then I want to do it. You’ll find date ideas, common marriage problems and how we’ve worked them out, how to stay connected to your spouse in every stage of your life and Murray Mutterings which will feature the funny conversations that happen in our marriage and MUCH, MUCH more.

Fridays will be all about MEMORIES. Here you’ll find Flashback Fridays where I break out the old photos, date nights we’ve recently taken and any and all recent trips we’ve taken.

If you see I’ve posted something on a Tuesday or Thursday, those will be free for all days – maybe a link up with some of my awesome blog friends or maybe just random musings from my life.

Thanks to Chelsea, for reminding me that if I don’t like something in my life, I have the power to change it to make it the best it can be. Even if it’s just this little ol’ blog of mine.

Thanks for reading and for following along with me on my blogging journey so far. I hope that this more focused direction this blog is taking will be most beneficial to my readers. Keeping a happy and long lasting marriage is something I am passionate about and I want to use that passion to help and encourage others along the same journey.

So tell me, what do you think of the new direction that I’m taking Just Murrayed? Any other ideas you can think of that you’d like to see that fit into the marriage, motivation or memories categories?

  1. Great ideas! I definitely think that blogging about what YOU are passionate about will keep you coming back to continue blogging. When I was exclusively a book blogger, I got burnt out and didn’t want to blog. A few years ago, I made the shift to lifestyle blogger + books and have been happier and more motivated to blog.

  2. FRIEND! When I took a blogging break over Lent, I mulled over the same things! My heart has been going more towards writing intentionally about encouragement, marriage, and faith! So I’m doing encouraging posts on Mondays, whatever I want on Wednesdays, and right now I’m doing a wedding recap series on Fridays! (Marriage & relationships will probably slide in on the Friday posts when the recap series is done.:) ) So I totally support your decision in doing this. You have to write about what YOU want to write about; it’s so much more fulfilling.

  3. That actually sounds really lovely! Love the alliteration but also the thought behind each day – looking forward to what you come up with!! And I love reading about other people’s learnings and growth and progress and memories – this is what’s life is about! Exploring and discovering not only through your own experiences but also through other’s.
