2017 Movies I’m Looking Forward To

One of mine and The Mister’s favourite date nights still to this day is going to the movie theatre to see the new movies that are released.

2016 for me was ALL about the Irish movies. I LOVED Brooklyn(which I declared my favourite movie of 2016 in January…luckily I didn’t have to eat my words, because it was still the best!) and Sing Street took a close second.

Although, 2017 doesn’t have as many movies that I HAVE to see like 2016 did, I think it’s going to be a great year of good movies and great date nights.

Here’s 5 movies that I’m excited to see:

Beauty and the Beast
Release Date: March 16th
Starring: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens

This one is just for ME! The Mister has no desire to see any Disney movie for the rest of his life, but Beauty and the Beast was my favourite Disney princess movie as a child so we’re definitely going to go see this, whether he likes it or not…

The Lego Batman Movie
Release Date: February 9th
Starring: Ralph Fiennes, Jenny Slate, Zach Galifianakis

I rarely laugh a real belly laugh at any animated movie but the first Lego movie made me literally laugh out loud. When you add in Batman, you know both The Mister and I are going to enjoy this movie!

Pitch Perfect 3
Release Date: December 22
Starring: Rebel Wilson, Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld

I am a diehard fan of the Pitch Perfect movies so even though I’m leary about a third movie, I am definitely going to be seeing this one! The Mister, will be dragged along, don’t worry he’s been warned.

My Scientology Movie
Release Date: March 3rd
Starring: Louis Theroux

Louis Theroux is a BBC documentarian who has investigated other religious organizations such as the Westboro Baptist church. I’m a huge fan of his and I’m always fascinated by Scientology documentaries so this is a must see!

The Founder
Release Date: January 20th
Starring: Michael Keaton, Nick Offerman

I LOVE a good biopic, even better when it’s a huge “evil” corporation like McDonald’s. I’m stoked to see this, not to mention I love Michael Keaton and Nick Offerman. I’ve purposely not watched any trailers so that I can go in fresh to this movie. Fun fact, The Mister went 10 years without eating at Mcdonald’s after watching Supersize Me.

So there ya have it. These are some of the movies I’m looking forward to seeing in 2017.

So tell me, what movies are you looking forward to seeing in 2017?What was your favourite movie of 2016?

  1. I think the LEGO Batman movie looks hilarious 🙂 And The Founder has been on my list since I heard about it. I hadn’t heard of the Scientology one, but it sounds interesting…
