Throwback Thursday: Travel Edition

If you couldn’t tell from this post, I’ve got travel on the brain. I’ve been thinking about the places I want to go but also the places I’ve been. The older I get the more at awe I am at how awesome the world really is.

I haven’t been to many exotic places, but when I looked back at all the photos of this post they made me smile because of the awesome memories I have of the times I’ve travelled and the people I travelled with. Don’t forget to read the captions, that’s where the writing is going to be.

Just a small warning, most of these photos aren’t great quality…let’s just say I should get my money back for those college photography classes I took.

February 2014 – Ottawa, Ontario with The Mister – We finally went to Winterlude for the weekend to embrace our Canadianness – Beavertails were eaten(a dessert…google it…SO good!), Parliament was visited and we saw some AMAZING ice sculptures. We didn’t bring any skates or we would have skated the Rideau Canal.
November 2011 – Los Angeles, California with The Mister – The highlight of this trip was all the American fast food joints I’ve seen through television. This is Strawberry Banana French Toast from IHOP…obviously before the Celiac diagnosis! We also hit Jack in the Box, In-N-Out Burger, Cheesecake Factory, Del Taco and probably others but I’m drawing a blank. Needless to say, I’m pretty sure we gained 10lbs!
May 2013 – Mexico with Heather and Justin – I was in Mexico to witness Heather and Justin get married in a beautiful and intimate wedding. This was the morning before I left and Heather and Justin stayed to enjoy their honeymoon. Note the super red hands…I decided the last day I was going to go sans sunscreen…big mistake.
July 2013 – Shuswap with The Mister – We came here to witness our friends Braden and Jen get married in a beautiful lake and moutainside wedding. The day after this photo was taken, The Mister drove down a dead-end road and proposed! It’s also when we first uttered the words, “We will make it back to BC, one day!”
December 2011 – Bahamas with the BFF Heather and the Backstreet Boys – This was 4 days of nonstop partying and very little sleeping. Relaxing this vacation was not but if I had to describe this cruise in one word it would be INSANE! Seriously. Screaming girls(including us!), gorgeous weather in the Bahamas and nonstop concerts from a childhood favourite band. Doesn’t get much better than that!
August 2013 – Niagara Falls, Ontario with The Mister – The Mister picked me up from work in a car and surprised me with a trip to Niagara Falls for the weekend. It was magical. We kissed in front of the Falls, went on the SkyWheel and played mini putt.

So tell me, where are some of the amazing places you’ve been to? What’s your favourite place you’ve ever visited?

  1. This is awesome! I love that you’ve been to so many places. I haven’t traveled a whole lot. I’ve been to Niagara Falls which is AMAZING (I live in NY, about an hour away), Florida several times because my grandma lives there, and a few Caribbean places because we went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We’ve also been to some nearby states during road trips, but nothing too exciting.

  2. The husband and I have only been to Niagara Falls as far as Canada destinations go, but we should check out other places up there! I LOVE that you did a BSB cruise!!! That’s AWESOME! We were looking at music cruises this year but they’re just outside out budget this time šŸ˜‰

    1. If you like history, Ottawa is a great place to go for some Canadian History. The BSB cruise was a serious amount of money, but I was young and stupid and it was SO worth it, but I’d probably not do another one due to the money!
