In recent years I’d only seen a handful of new movies each year. Mostly because without a television, I wasn’t exposed to the myriad of trailers but also because it felt like there wasn’t anything I HAD to see but 2016 has been different! We’ve done lots of movie date nights because there is so many movies we’ve actually wanted to see. I totally recommend Brooklyn and Sing Street, which so far are my top picks of the year! Thanks to Louise for giving me this great idea to showcase all the awesome movies The Mister and I still have to see this year!
Release Date: July 15, 2016
To be honest with you, I’m torn on this one. I’m not sure it’s going to be laugh-out-loud funny and even though my love isn’t as great as The Mister’s for the original Ghostbusters, I love the original and I just don’t think it will live up to the hype but nonetheless we’re going to go see it and who knows? Maybe it’ll be better than the previews.
Release Date: July 29, 2016
I’m not a mom(obviously!) so I don’t know if I can 100% relate but this has an all-star cast that I’m sure will make this movie a great one!
The Nice Guys
Release Date: May 20, 2016
We’ve seen SO many previews for this at the movie theatres and it looks awesome! I love a movie that has some drama and really you can’t go wrong with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.
Me Before You
Release Date: June 3, 2016
Considering only 3 weeks ago I had NO idea this was being turned into a movie; I’m excited. Like really excited. I’ve got my sister, mom and aunts reading it all in preparation to have a good ol’ ugly cry in theatres!
Release Date: August 5, 2016
I’m so over superhero movies but since seeing parts of Suicide Squad being filmed right here in Toronto, I knew we’d have to see this! It also looks very dark which I admit I love since it reminds me of The Dark Knight. Even if I wasn’t into seeing this The Mister is 100% stoked about seeing Suicide Squad that there’s no way I could get out of it.
The Girl on the Train
Release Date: October 7, 2016
If I know nothing about the book I always seem to enjoy the movie more so I’m going to see the movie first and then if I like it I’m going to read the book after. The book got a LOT of hype and has Emily Blunt who I love, but who knows if it’ll turn out in movie form. I honestly don’t know much about the book except that it’s about a lady who rides a train and she’s divorced. It looks like it’s a dark movie and I know it’s a popular book so hopefully it’s a great movie!
So tell me, what movies are you looking forward to in 2016? Or have you seen any great movies in 2016 that I have to see?
