Yesterday The Mister and I spent the morning at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. The Fair takes place every November in Toronto and is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair. It also boasts as the largest equestrian competition and where Canadian and international breeders and growers go to compete for ultimate domination.
The first place we stopped at was the area with the prize-winning produce, maple syrup, preserves and more!
Up next was the show animals waiting for their turn to compete and the animals that were being bought and sold.
After we saw all the animals, we stumbled into a Youth Show Goat Competition! It was really cute to see the kids with their goats.
After the competition we wandered into the bull riding competition. Although, I don’t condone the activity since it doesn’t sit well with me to make a huge animal angry just for show or for a sense of pride, I’ll admit it was pretty exhilarating to watch!
After the bull riding competition we refueled with a bison sandwich for The Mister and a loaded baked potato for me.
Lunch was done, and then FINALLY it was the part that I had been waiting for – the petting zoo!
It had been YEARS since I’ve been to the The Fair, and I can tell you it didn’t disappoint! It was a lot of fun looking at and petting the animals, watching the bull riding and seeing all the HUGE vegetables that farmers grow.
So tell me, have you been to an agricultural fair? Or just tell me what you did on the weekend!
