Feels Like Home Favourites – Toronto Restaurants

Are you ready for the first Feels Like Home Favourites? I don’t know about you, but I’m SO STOKED! I make no apologies for the possible excessive use of the word AMAZING and AWESOME because seriously these restaurants I literally dream about.

I’ve had MANY awesome dining experiences in Toronto – even being gluten-free has NOT stopped me from experiencing SO many awesome restaurants! I’ve been to a TON of Toronto restaurants but I’m sure I haven’t even scratched the surface of great restaurants in Toronto but here are my top restaurants that you MUST eat at!

Barque Smokehouse
Located in the west end of Toronto, this barbeque restaurant is AMAZING! It does pulled pork, brisket, chicken wings and drumsticks and much more! My favourite thing on their menu is their chicken wings though! They come dry rubbed and then you dip them in one of their homemade barbeque sauces and Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing. I seriously dream about the chicken wings. Oh! And they have free popcorn with some sort of spicy seasoning on it while you wait for your dinner.

I’ve taken MANY friends here and they all agree it’s the BEST barbeque place!

Dirty Bird
If you like Chicken and Waffles(who doesn’t?!) You will LOVE Dirty Bird! Located in what’s known as Kensington Market, it’s ALWAYS busy but it’s SO worth the wait! They have a small restaurant inside that you can eat at or you can take it to-go. They do have other things on their small menu, but honestly, I haven’t gotten past their Chicken and Waffles…because they are AMAZING. The Chicken and Waffles is described as northern Chicken and Waffles so the chicken is spicy with a sweet twist from maple syrup!

Il Fornello
Il Fornello is a great Italian restaurant “chain” with a few locations around Toronto. They offer typical Italian food, but what makes them special is there gluten-free pizza crust – it’s to die for! Italian food seems to be pretty pricey but I’d still call Il Fornello reasonably priced! A meal for one will set you back about $20.

Off the Hook
Off The Hook Gourmet Fish N Chips serves up classics with a modern twist. They have a few different batters such as House, Gluten-free, Cajun or Jerk. They have many different types of sauces that you can use for your fish as well such as Wasabi Mayo, Chipotle Mayo, Mango Salsa, Curry Mayo. They take Celiac Disease seriously and offer a separate fryer and never put your fish anywhere but on your plate so cross contamination isn’t a problem. It’s reasonably priced and a meal for one will set you back around $18.

So tell me, what are your favourite restaurants where you live?
