As you can tell from my last post, we just celebrated our first anniversary! We decided to do the same thing we did last year after the wedding and that was to go to my parents cottage! It was the perfect getaway for us since it was so, so quiet. There aren’t TOO many photos of the weekend because I was really, really trying to be in the moment and just enjoy the time with The Mister.
Friday night we hopped on a train to pick up my parent’s car to take up to the cottage and then we were off! We settled in quickly and then spent the night cuddling on the couch with a fire roaring.
Saturday morning we didn’t do a whole lot either. Mostly relaxing, but in the evening my parents, my two aunts and one uncle came over for dinner. We had sausages on a bun, coleslaw, Caesar salad, potato salad and cake for dessert. After dinner, we all settled into the couches to watch the Blue Jays game. After the game was over everyone left and The Mister and I cleaned up and went to bed.
Sunday (our actual anniversary day) we took it easy. Cuddling on the couch with the fireplace roaring. It was so, so relaxing. We then decided to order a pizza for dinner to have with our champagne!
Monday morning, we got up really early, cleaned the cottage and headed back to my parents place but not before we headed for breakfast at Cora’s!
We then spent Monday morning with my niece and then my Mom dropped us off at the train station to head back to Toronto.
It was the most relaxing anniversary I could have asked for!
We already exchanged gifts earlier in the week, you’ll have to wait to see what they are October 10th!
So tell me, what did you do for your first wedding anniversary?
Congratulations!!! Sounds like something my wife and I would do on our first one (coming up in 2 months). Many more years to come!

Bryan and I are super low-key, so I’m pretty sure we just went out for dinner on our first anniversary. There is actually no documentation of us doing anything exciting that day. We did get a puppy the month before though, so I’m officially deciding that Cali is my first year wedding anniversary gift. 😛
