This exact time last year I was awake, just waiting for the action to start. I remember going about things like eating breakfast and then I’d remember, I’m getting married today. My thoughts just kept ping-ponging back to what was going to happen that afternoon.
I know, I know, everyone thinks their wedding was the most beautiful and no one wants to see your photos after the designated couple months that it’s appropriate but it’s our one year anniversary so I’m feeling nostalgic.
Throughout the planning process everyone asked us what our theme was and all I could come up with was wedding but it hit me a couple of months after our wedding that really our wedding theme really was mismatched. My bridesmaids’ dresses were all different, the groomsmens’ suits and ties were all different shades and the centrepiece holders were all different silver pieces that came from my family.
The entire day was a labour of love. My mother-in-law made our wedding cakes, my aunt and uncle planted, weeded and tended over all the flowers for months for our wedding, and my sister arranged every single centrepiece, bouquet and flower arrangement. My mom made our sucre a la creme wedding favours, and my aunts and grandma spent an evening putting all the favours together. I’m sure I’m forgetting something that someone did, but just know our wedding was only made possible by lots of wonderful people!
Our wedding ceremony was held in a large Anglican church and our reception was held in this cute little white building that looked like a church on the outside but had bare wood walls, wooden beams running across the top and chandeliers hanging from the ceilings.
Without further ado, here’s my favourite wedding photos from Rachael Joy Photography detailing the entire day from start to finish!
Did you have a theme for your wedding? If so what was it? Did you have a ton of people help with your wedding or did you do it mostly on your own? Was your wedding the best day of your life?
