This past Sunday I had the pleasure to spend the day at Summersong Farms helping behind the scenes while a flower arranging class along with a tea and luncheon was happening. Summersong Farms is my aunt and uncle’s hobby farm where they have a small flock of sheep, a couple of chickens, 2 dogs, a cat and LOTS of flowers. They do the flower arranging classes and picking days throughout the growing season.
First we had to pick the dahlias and zinnias.
Then we had to set up the barn to get ready for the ladies who were coming.
This was a demo flower arrangement that my sister Ashleigh made.
After the barn was ready we went to work to set the table for tea, coffee and muffins.
Then we were ready to have the ladies come!
After the first part of the class where they made a flower arrangement they came in to the farmhouse to have lunch.
After lunch, they went back out into the barn to see a demonstration from Ashleigh on how to make a flower crown.
When the demo was done they showed off their arrangements!
Despite the rainy day, it was a fantastic day spent at the farm!
Tell me, what did you do this weekend? Have you ever done a flower arranging class?
